The Hornbeam is a community cafe and environment center that offers vegetarian food prepared using local, organic and fairly traded ingredients whenever possible. Vegan and gluten-free dishes are also served. Drinks offered include fair trade coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer, wine, and spirits. Brunch is offered on Saturdays. Menu is constantly changing with the seasons. The cafe caters for those with allergies and special diets. Hornbeam also sells home-baked bread such as Russian rye bread, pain de campagne, wholemeal spelt and wholemeal sourdough from the Hornbeam community bakers, as well as refills for environment-friendly household cleaning and washing liquids. The cafe also hosts a knitting, sewing and crafts group every Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00.
